Track Name: Small Machines
I spend my days with these small machines
Thinking about my dreams as I punch the keys
Don't have a window, but I'm looking out
I'm looking out and I can see you now
You're riding shotgun as we drive south
You raise your bottled water to your perfect mouth
The seams in the pavement on the Golden Gate
The California sun on your smiling face

I want to get out of here

I'm walking home through the crusty snow
Sun dog mimicked by the streetlight's glow
The cold has worked it's way through my clothes
Through my skin and right into my bones
Warm recollections as I watch my breath
Of you and I lying in a makeshift bed
In the back of our van at that deserted beach
Listening to the ocean as we fall asleep

I want to get out of here
Track Name: Ukee
The moisture in the air lets me know that I'm home
Its damp and it is cool as it enters my lungs
The forest is lush on the sides of the highway
As the setting sun paints itself on my windshield

The horizon breaks over Kennedy Lake
The first time I saw it, I thought it was the ocean
Its hard to stay focused on that steep winding road
When your eyes keep getting drawn to the passenger side window

I found the paradise that I was looking for
The beauty and the energy born upon these shores
Is different than any place that I have ever been
It is green and gray and beautiful and it makes sense to me

Trees rising up like pillars toward the clouds
Then disappearing in the fog like a person in a crowd
Walking alone through the trail at He-Tin-Kis Park
Where I carved my name on the table in 1994

I got a CD playing in the stereo
The CD is titled "Mike and Troy's Demo"
Singing along with the voices of my friends
Voices that echo in so many people's heads

I hit the junction and I take a hard left
Right about then the memories come flooding back
So many faces, laughter and good times
All of these moments imprinted on my mind

I found the paradise that I was looking for
The beauty and the energy born upon these shores
Is different than any place that I have ever been
It is green and gray and beautiful and it makes sense to me

Trees rising up like pillars toward the clouds
Then disappearing in the fog like a person in a crowd
Walking alone through the trail at He-Tin-Kis Park
Where I carved my name on the table in 1994
It took 20 years to find the place that I was looking for
Carved my name on the table in 1994
